Are you living your best life? What does that even mean? If you’re like most people you’re just trying to get through the day, pay the bills, keep up with family and friends, and eek out a little happiness somewhere. If you’re like most people, life gets in the way of living your best life.

To live your best life means to live presently, be fulfilled, happy and to serve a purpose. If you are living your best life, you probably wake each morning with a sense of lightness, excitement and love for all that the universe has in store for you. If you are not living your best life, you make wake each morning after hitting the snooze button 3 or more times, might dread the idea of going to work and doing a job you don’t much care for, have anxiety about what the future holds because you don’t feel as though you control it.

Living your best life is living in the now and being in balance with the universe. When you live your best life, you still have challenges and obstacles, but your path forward is founded in faith that you will continue forward and not be mired in the past.

So if you aren’t living your best life right now, what can you do so you are?

The wonderful thing about living your best life is that it’s pretty easy to do. It takes a simple shift in attitude followed by a shift in the way you think about things. And then it takes practice. You don’t need to move mountains, you just need to change your point of view.

There are a multitude of great books available to help you live your best life, to live with intention and for manifesting your best life. I highly recommend finding a few that you enjoy and reading them regularly. Listening to them on tape is another great way to go to the mental gym that is so important when it comes to creating your best life. Below are a few examples of what you can do right now to start living your best life ever.

Set Intentions

Like setting goals, but for emotions. How will you feel about things as you go through your day. You can choose to see the glass as half empty or half full. Of course you could also see that the glass can be refilled when it gets low. It’s about attitude and how you will navigate the emotional roller coaster of life. Setting your intention to be present, positive and at peace is a great way to start your day each day. The easiest way to set your intentions is by writing them out. You can do it weekly (I like to write down my intentions for the week on Sunday evenings after I’ve settled down for the day. It keeps me looking forward to the week ahead and keeps me grounded in the positive), daily or whenever the mood strikes you. I do like to make a habit out of it, so that I do it and don’t forget about it.

Hit the Mental Gym

Spend time each day exercising the grey matter. Choose a few books or audio books to read or listen to instead of wasting time scrolling through social media. Set aside an hour each day to work your brain and learn more about how yours works. You’re not trying to ace a test, this is a different kind of learning. You should seek out material and topics that excite you and that lead you to more information and learning.

Live in the Now

This is one of the most important rules of living your best life – you must live in the now. Don’t waste time worrying about the future and stop putting off for someday. If your dream is to become an author then you must consider yourself an author now and get down to writing. Somedays never come, you must do now what you would do someday. If your goal for the year is to get into better shape you must live as though you are in the best shape and then do the things that would maintain that level of fitness.

Do What You Love

This should be obvious, but most of don’t do the things we love. We go to work, we do the laundry, we cook  the meals, we go to sleep and do it all over again the next day. Find something you love doing that you can work into your day. It could be singing in the car while driving to work, it could be making sure you pull the laundry out of the dry while it’s still warm, it could be searching for the new job you love or creating something completely unique. Find something you love, tell it you love it, and invite the universe to bring you more of what you love.

Practice Self-Love

Take care of yourself first. Put your oxygen mask on before you put it on those around you. Do something each day to show yourself how much you love yourself. Take a bubble bath, get a mani/pedi, go for a bike ride, talk to a friend on the phone, whatever it is that makes you feel nurtured – do it. The return will be well worth it, and you deserve it.

Meditation can raise your vibration which is key to living your best life. When you meditate you bring into focus that which you are manifesting and setting intentions for. Meditation is like the center of a wagon wheel  – it connects all the spokes and keeps them in balance.

These are just a few ways to live your best life right now, there are certainly other things you can do. If you’ve got one you’d like to share feel free to do so in the comment section.
