INDIVIDUAL THERAPY · SAN MATEO

Sometimes you know exactly what’s wrong. Sometimes you just know you don’t feel like yourself.

Maybe you’re anxious, overwhelmed, or constantly second-guessing yourself. Maybe you’re dealing with grief, a breakup, a major life change, or something from your past that still affects you.

Or maybe everything looks fine on the outside, but it doesn’t feel that way to you.

I’ve spent 30 years helping people understand themselves, work through difficult experiences, and make changes they haven’t been able to make on their own.

You don’t need to be in crisis or have everything figured out before we begin.

I work with adults dealing with anxiety, difficult relationships, painful experiences, loss or major life changes. Some are highly capable people who look like they have everything together, but privately feel overwhelmed, stuck or simply unlike themselves.

Sometimes it looks like this

You agree to something you don’t want to do and feel resentful afterward.

You spend an hour thinking about a five-minute conversation.

You know you need to set a boundary, but when the moment comes you soften it, explain too much, or don’t say it at all.

You make decisions confidently at work and can’t trust yourself at all when it comes to a relationship.

Or maybe nothing is obviously wrong. Your life works. Other people think you’re doing great. It just doesn’t feel that way from the inside.

Insight and change are two different jobs.

A lot of people who come to me already have insight. You may know exactly where your people-pleasing came from, or why rejection hits you so hard.

That matters. But if you understand the pattern and you’re still living it, there’s more work to do.

We’ll look at what’s happening now, what keeps pulling you back into it, and what may be underneath. Then we work out what changing it actually looks like in your life.

WE MIGHT WORK ON
  • Anxiety that isn’t obvious to anyone else

  • Overthinking and second-guessing yourself

  • Depression or not feeling like yourself

  • Self-esteem, perfectionism and being hard on yourself

  • Grief, loss and difficult endings

  • Major life, family or career changes

  • Experiences from the past that still affect you

  • Saying no, setting boundaries and people-pleasing

  • Dating and relationship patterns

  • Breakups and difficulty letting go

  • Relationships with controlling or narcissistic people

  • Making a difficult decision

You don’t need to wait until something is falling apart.

You can come because something hurts. You can also come because you’re tired of repeating something, because a decision is keeping you up at night, or because you want your life to feel different than it does.

You don’t need a diagnosis or a crisis to have something worth working on.
