Can you believe it’s already June? Wow, time is flying by. It seems like just a few weeks ago we were celebrating the New Year. June is a wonderful time in San Francisco. There is a festival for absolutely everything you can imagine. From wine tasting festivals to music festivals and even a tofu festival, and of course, there is the grand daddy of all festivals – San Francisco Pride. There is truly something for everyone this month in San Francisco.

Stravinsky’s The Rite of Spring

Head into spring with a musical burst of color and excitement with Stravinsky’s revolutionary Le Sacre du printemps. Conductor Susanna Mälkki returns following rave reviews last season for bringing out “serenity and wit, lyricism and rawness, whispering delicacy and harrowing abandon” (San Francisco Classical Voice) in the orchestra, along with pianist Garrick Ohlsson, longtime SF Symphony favorite, whose artistry combines “strength, sensitivity and stylistic insight” (San Francisco Chronicle) in Beethoven’s First Piano Concerto.
SF Docfest

For 16 days we will experience real life stories about rock n roll, activism, art, sport, animals, business, disability, the environment, spirituality and the just plain weird. We’ll meet local filmmakers and filmmakers from afar. We are honored to have the opportunity to present the World Premiere of Corbett Redford’s Turn It Around: The Story Of East Bay Punk before the film goes on tour with its producers Green Day. Rory Kennedy’s new surf doc Take Every Wave: The Life Of Laird Hamilton kicks off our Roxie Theater run, and Lynn Hershman Leeson will take the stage to introduce and talk about her new film Tania Libre to launch our week of films at the Vogue Theater.

San Francisco Free Folk Festival

The 41st annual San Francisco Free Folk Festival will be a full day of music, dance, and storytelling workshops and concerts, crafts, vendors, and fun for the whole family. All ages and musical interests are welcome. All events and workshops are open to anyone who wants to participate or just listen. Admission to everything is free! New this year: a full-day storytelling program presented by the Storytelling Association of California.
Soy and Tofu Festival 2017

This exciting culinary and cultural event showcases soy and tofu vendors, provides an educational forum on the various uses and benefits of soy and tofu, offers live music and cultural entertainment, interactive games and tofu eating contests, and culminates with the Soy and Tofu Dessert Competition.
San Francisco Pride

With over 200 parade contingents and exhibitors, and more than twenty community-run stages and venues, the San Francisco Pride Celebration and Parade is the largest gathering of the LGBT community and allies in the nation.
Celebrations begin on a Saturday in Civic Center Plaza in downtown San Francisco the last full weekend of June each year. The Parade, which takes place the Sunday morning of the event, kicks off from Beale Street along Market and ends at Market and 8th St. in the heart of downtown San Francisco.
